Far be it from me to turn down a challenge you miserable runt. [....Well, that's...promising.]

Here friends, what do you think of this? There's no such thing as birthright that's recognized by nature, and it's a notion the weak use as a trick to keep themselves in power they didn't earn. To hear a person claiming they're you're better when it's clear they're helpless on their own, that's plain foolishness, isn't it? And yet there's worlds where such ineffectual men are kings and the people are made to believe that it's natural and just for the throne to grant power alone. And they suffer for it because when the king is weak he must resort to underhanded means to ensure nobody's more powerful than him.

But that doesn't have a damn thing to do with this world because it doesn't work like that here. So who else thinks that anyone who crows about their title in this world is only fooling themselves? Pokemon give power where it's earned by effort or skill. Where it's not, the unfit can't rise to where anyone would suffer beneath them. And the rest of us are free to show them their natural place when they think their hollow claims to good breeding make them any better than another. A place in a pool, for example.

[...That should probably offer a clue to what this unabashed craziness is about, if the fact that it goes up about ten minutes after a post from Saionji doesn't give it enough context. I'm...I'm sorry, guys.]

[Oh look. It's almost like someone is addressing Greed here even though he knows it isn't about him.

He's still going to call himself the Ultimate Shield even if he doesn't have that ability, thank you very much.]

You know, I really haven't been around here long enough to get much of a foothold in this world, but I do know that threatening one's world belief, especially in a public form where strangers can look in, never has quite the desired results.

That's true. Mostly I'm interested in seeing how the person you called out reacts.

Be careful with falling prey to challenges, though. Sometimes the other party involved just really wants to see you squirm. That's assuming they're smart enough for that sort of manipulation, of course. If they're not, carry on.

Honestly I'm interested in hearing what sort of world you come from that you would talk about ineffectual kings and good breeding. Or, really, what sort of world this person you've having a dispute with is from, too.

In my own experience there are two types of people. Those with the power and those without. And the ones without are either too weak to grab the power or struggling to grab it.

You can say we're in a world where these things don't matter, but ultimately we're a product of the worlds we lived in and a bunch of colorful monsters and packed lunches isn't exactly going to change that.

What's worse: a weak leader or a tyrant?

I've seen firsthand what an effective leader can do. There's no such thing as a "noble" leader. The only effective leader is a ruthless one.

[But then again, militarized society.]

If it's any consolation, I'm not sure such a system would even work in a place that doesn't even have weapons. It's a safe place if only because of technological stagnation.

I disagree.

The type of person you're suggesting is a fairy tale. Pretty on paper but they don't exist in the real world.

The only leaders that truly exists are the ones who incites obedience out of fear.

[Not that he's speaking from personal experience or anything.]

Of course, the moment that leader incites enough fear to incite riots against him, he's lost his footing as effective and will be replaced by someone who is.

You're underestimating the corruptibility of power.

Or overestimating the goodness in people's hearts.

I've been around longer than most and have never seen a person like you're describing last as a leader.

[Oh, there we go. He likes you.]

Yeah?

So glad you agree. Unfortunately the leader I know has some rather strong opinions on that sort of thing.

Seems to think that any leeway at all and the entire tower of cards will come crashing down. It's not at all incorrect. You could have called me a crony at one point, but the moment I got wise I was thrown into time out to be made to think about what a bad boy had been.

It didn't work.

The one who locked me away in the first place may disagree but personally?

I'm a free man. I'll burn the entire tower to the ground. There won't even be ashes when I'm done.
